Armored Core 6 How to Beat Sea Spider Boss Ocean Crossing

Armored Core 6 How to Beat Sea Spider Boss in Ocean Crossing

You’ll have to fight the Sea Spider boss in Armored Core 6 in the Ocean Crossing mission. As you attempt to board the catapult, an automated Coral-powered weapon attacks, and you’re forced to defend yourself. This is yet another of AC6’s difficulty checks, so don’t be surprised if you have trouble beating it.

Armored Core 6: Best Sea Spider loadout

We found the best weapons against the Sea Spider boss is the trusty combo of Plasma Rifles and Plasma Missiles. Combine these with reverse joint legs and a good booster, and you can circle around Sea Spider without getting touched. Your goal is to spend as much time as possible in the air to avoid its more powerful attacks.

How to beat the Sea Spider in Armored Core 6

Like most other bosses in Armored Core 6, the Sea Spider has two phases. The first is stuck on the ground and can be avoided if you stick to the air. However, the second one is airborne and harder to avoid.

Phase 1

The first phase of the Sea Spider fight isn’t too tricky if you have decent boost capability. The two attacks to watch for are:

Red Beam: The Sea Spider will charge its cannon for a moment and fire a powerful beam that can hit from any range. It has a high chance of staggering your AC. Avoid this by dodging as the beam is fired.

Mandible Beam Sabers: When the Sea Spider thrusts across the arena, it often follows up by swinging two powerful beam sabers. This is easy to avoid by just being high enough in the air.

If you stay in the air as much as possible, there’s not much the boss can do to you in its first form. At around 40% AP, it’ll transform into its second form.

Phase 2

Things get a bit more interesting in the second phase of the fight. The Sea Spider will transform and take to the air. In this new form, it’ll shoot powerful red beams from its underside and gain an attack that is almost certainly an instant kill if it hits you.

However, there’s a trick to this part of the fight. If you stay above the boss, it has trouble hitting you, and you are immune to its most powerful attack. You can even cheat a bit since it’s wide enough to rest your mech against its collision box and recharge your boosters when it’s stopped.

So, for the second phase of the Sea Spider fight in AC6, just get above the boss and shoot it as much as you can until it dies.
