Does Armored Core 6 have cross-play?
Armored Core 6 does not support any type of cross-play across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or PC. While Armored Core 6 does have a multiplayer mode that’s somewhat hidden from players, it’s not possible for people to pair up on separate systems.
Also, in a strange twist, players can’t even link up across generations. PS4 players can’t play with PS5 players and Xbox One users can’t party up with Xbox Series X|S players. Everyone is in their own separate matchmaking system. Some titles, like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, have crossplay within console families. Others, such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, keep current-gen players in their own matchmaking systems separate from last-gen consoles. But Armored Core 6 is much more limited.
It is unclear if this feature will come in a future update. Neither FromSoftware nor Bandai Namco Entertainment have broached the subject on their various channels. However, it seems unlikely, given FromSoftware’s history. Not only do none of its previous games support the feature, but Elden Ring, its smash hit RPG from 2022 and its most recent project, does not have any sort of crossplay.
While it is always possible for the developer to modernize its approach, its inability to implement the feature in its last two releases means that Armored Core 6 cross-play likely is not coming anytime soon, if at all.
