Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk Starter Locations: How to Unlock Starters From All Gens

All the starters are finally coming to Pokemon Scarlet & Violet in The Indigo Disk DLC, but they’re not available from the start. Instead, you’ll have to put quite a bit of footwork to unlock the starters in the Blueberry Academy Terarium. Fortunately, once you do, finding the starter locations in The Indigo Disk is relatively easy, and we’ll list them all below.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk Starter Unlock Request

I was shocked to learn that every single starter in Pokemon history is available in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk DLC. However, my surprise was tempered by the fact that you have some pretty hefty tasks to complete to unlock access to them.

You’ll have access to the ability to unlock the starters in The Indigo Disk early on in the DLC. All you have to do is follow the story until you reach the League Club Room. After the tutorial about the League Club Support Board, you can get on the computer to see all the available support requests.

To unlock the starters you’ll need to fulfill the Terarium Club’s four requests to boost biodiversity in each of the biomes. These require massive amounts of BP, but for each of them you complete, you’ll unlock six basic starter forms, which will begin spawning immediately.

Once you complete the Terarium Club biodiversity requests, you can find the starter Pokemon in the following locations:

  • Bulbasaur: Coastal Biome
  • Charmander: Savannah Biome
  • Chespin: Polar Biome
  • Chikorita: Coastal Biome
  • Chimchar: Polar Biome
  • Cyndaquil: Canyon Biome
  • Fennekin: Savannah Biome
  • Froakie: Coastal Biome
  • Grookey: Coastal Biome
  • Litten: Canyon Biome
  • Mudkip: Coastal Biome
  • Oshawott: Polar Biome
  • Piplup: Polar Biome
  • Poplio: Coastal Biome
  • Rowley: Savannah Biome
  • Scorbunny: Polar Biome
  • Snivy: Savannah Biome
  • Sobble: Savannah Biome
  • Squirtle: Canyon Biome
  • Tepig: Canyon Biome
  • Torchic: Polar Biome
  • Totodile: Savannah Biome
  • Treecko: Canyon Biome
  • Turtwig: Canyon Biome

Note, once all the biodiversity upgrades are unlocked, there seems to be a bit of crossover between regions. For example, don’t be surprised if you see a Cyndaquil spawn near the border of the Polar/Canyon regions.
