More DLC Treats for Rock Band 3, Complete With Cryptic Titles

For the second time in as many months, Harmonix released brand new songs for Rock Band 3 as DLC, and fans of the series may want to take particular note this time around.

Last month, Harmonix, the studio behind the Rock Band franchise, surprised fans with new DLC tracks from Arctic Monkey, Avenged Sevenfold, and Foo Fighters, calling them a “special treat.” Today, Harmonix treated fans again with two new tracks, this time from Weezer and Tenacious D.

Marketing manager Aaron Trites, coyly called the tracks “awesome songs with great titles.” That's because the titles may be a subtle (or not-so-subtle) hint at a franchise revival in the eighth generation – the Weezer song is “Back to the Shack,” and the offering from Tenacious D is “Rize of the Fenix.”

It may be time to get the band back together.
