Don’t Miss Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s Birthday Surprise

In typical Kojima fashion, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain sports a number of hidden Easter eggs for fans of the franchise to discover. Just the other day, a special cutscene involving a key character from Ground Zeroes surfaced, totally flipping the script on everything players thought they knew about the events of the prologue.

Now, it looks like yet another fun little surprise has been discovered; however, this one is far more trivial and lighthearted than the aforementioned, mind-blowing narrative-centric secret.

If you happen to play the game on your birthday, you'll get a call from Ocelot to hurry back to base to deal with an emergency. Instead, however, Big Boss discovers that it's just an elaborate surprise birthday party. You can check out the celebratory cutscene below, as shared on Reddit

But the surprises don't end there, as those who have a complete 100 percent bonding rate with Quiet will get a little something extra. Give it a look below and skip to 2 minutes, 15 seconds. Thanks, Eurogamer!

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain released earlier this week for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Stay tuned for our review, which will be hitting the site very soon.
