Sony Adds Branding To PS4 Console Exclusive Box Art, Starting with Street Fighter V

Sony has several noteworthy console exclusives hitting the PS4 this year and it wants to make sure you know that they're console exclusive starting ASAP.

Street Fighter V is perhaps the most notable of this year's PS4 console exclusives. With its arrival will be new branding that appears on the packaging of the game. As seen below, the title will feature a "PS4 Console Exclusive Game" Badge on the top-right of its box art.

Previously, Sony branded any game that was exclusive or had exclusive content as "Only On PlayStation". It was a relatively shady approach to marketing, especially in the case of prominently multiplatform games like BioShock Infinite which wore the badge simply because they had PlayStation Move support, something no other platform was capable of. This new "Console Exclusive" badge is much more clear and specific.

Other PS4 console exclusives arriving in 2016 include Killing Floor 2, Persona 5 (also on PS3), The Witness, and No Man's Sky.
