Guile Combs His Way Onto Street Fighter V Roster Today

Guile has finally flash-kicked his way back into Street Fighter, joining the roster for Street Fighter V not too soon after the street-brawler Alex did just a month before. Did you miss his perfectly coiffed hair, goes-with-everything theme song, and two 'Murica shoulder tattoos? Yeah, thought so.

Guile's incarnation in Street Fighter V is fairly flexible with his moves having more combo potential than his past versions. The Character Introduction Series video above shows how you can use his Special move, a rotating Sonic Hurricane, as easy extra hits from a launcher. His V-Skill, which has Guile form a static, circular Sonic Boom in front of him, should provide should easy defense against fireball spam. Better yet, a Sonic Boom that goes through this stationary projectile gains an extra hit.

If that wasn't enough of a projectile game, Guile's V-Trigger blasts multiple Sonic Booms together in quick succession, which can also be delayed for more control particularly if your opponent is in the corner. It's an easy setup for a Sonic Hurricane follow-up.

Guile's revamped classic Air Force Base returns as well, available for free if you have a Season Pass or 70,000 Fight Money through the in-game shop. But you can use Guile as a free trial for now until he's made available for real currency. As a reminder, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien are still slated to arrive later this year.

Along with Guile is a system that supposedly punished rage-quitters, a system that Capcom says will "be refined over time." The matchmaking system has been sped up as well, so good on you, Capcom!
