FromSoftware’s “Next Title” Arriving in 2017, Will Support PlayStation VR

With the arrival of Dark Souls 3 this month, the future of the franchise is put on hold for the time being. This has raised many questions from gamers wondering what FromSoftware, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious modern game studios, will do with its time. Well, whatever it is, today's leak points toward something ambitious.

A new video leaked on FromSoftware's official YouTube channel showcases the history of its game portfolio, dating back to King's Field on PlayStation. But that's not what has everyone talking. Included briefly in the video is text stating that "Next Title" is scheduled for launch in 2017 or later in addition to listing PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation VR as supported platforms.

The inclusion of PlayStation VR has caught many gamers by surprise, who have been under the impression that virtual reality has mostly been reserved for smaller, lower-budget titles.

Some gamers are speculating that the next game will be a new Armored Core title, a franchise that earned FromSoftware fame in previous generations, due to its popularity, distance from the Souls style of games, and VR-friendly gameplay.
