Nintendo Online Services Will Be Free Until Fall 2017

During the Nintendo Switch event on Thursday, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima detailed the game's online services, announcing that online play will be free of charge during a trial period immediately after the system's launch on March 3rd, 2017.

This free trial will continue until the fall of 2017, Kimishima said.

Kimishima said the online services will have integration with smart devices, presumably smart phones, that will allow you to chat with your friends and invite them during games.

Along with the announcement of multiplayer, the Switch was announced to have a local multiplayer option, supporting up to 8 different Nintendo Switch devices.

GameRevolution will have more on the Nintendo Switch as the event continues.
