Next Xbox Reportedly Releasing Within Next 18 Months

If a job listing on Microsoft's careers page is any indication, it looks like the successor to the Xbox 360 will be here within the next year and a half. Under the job listing for Director Marcom – CMG, Brand, the description notes that "Over the next eighteen months Microsoft will release new versions of all of our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface."

While one may try to argue that this is simply in reference to the dashboard update, the sentence that follows references a new "product" specifically. "This wave of product launches will define the course of the company for years to come and thus provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to refresh and evolve our strategic brands," the description adds.

While this should hardly come as a shock – after all, we've been expecting an Xbox 720 reveal for quite some time – the fact that it's finally being referenced by Microsoft itself, makes it feel all the more real. I don't know about you, but I can't wait for new hardware.
