Overwatch Year of the Dog New Skins Revealed: White Tiger Genji, Red Phoenix Mercy, and More

The Overwatch Year of the Dog event skins have been revealed, with Blizzard debuting a brand new trailer highlighting the special Legendary skins players will be able to unlock.

The likes of Mercy, Pharah, McCree, and Genji will each be getting new skins for the Year of the Dog event, which will run from February 8th to March 5th.

The seasonal event will also bring with it a brand new Capture the Flag map, Ayutthaya, which blends a regal-looking mansion with desolate ruins for players to fight their way through.

The main attraction, though, is Genji’s brand new skin. Seriously, look at this thing. Surely this must be in contention for the best-looking Overwatch skin to date?

The Year of the Dog event is intended to celebrate the Lunar New Year, and as per usual, these new skins will be available in loot boxes for a limited time only. If you want to get your hands on them, you’re either going to have to start leveling up fast or force your money into the Blizzard FPS in the hope that some of these cosmetics will drop for you.

A recent Overwatch update brought with it a major new change to the game, with players now able to select their skins from the pre-game character selection menu. This means that players can now change their skins on a whim, effectively introducing a virtual walk-in wardrobe to the Overwatch world. With some of these skins being Blizzard’s best to date, that they’ve implemented their change prior to the Year of the Dog event is probably no coincidence.
