Destiny 2 Faction Rally

New Destiny 2 Faction Rally Rewards Include Souped-Up Sniper Rifles

New Destiny 2 Faction Rally rewards will be available next week, with the upcoming event kicking off on March 20, at 10 a.m. PDT. Players will need to side with either the fan-favorite New Monarchy, the sometimes winner Dead Orbit, or the hasn’t-yet-won-a-single-thing-yet Future War Cult.

Choose to side with the winning team and you’ll receive a hefty discount on a featured weapon. The Future War Cult and Dead Orbit weapons are awesome-looking sniper rifles, while New Monarchy is rocking a grenade launcher. Without the winner’s discount, they’ll cost 50,000 Glimmer. However, with the winner’s discount applied, they’ll drop down to 1,000 Glimmer.

Bungie’s weekly update also mentions that this is the last chance for players to earn Season 2 faction ornaments. After March 27, Faction Rallies will be “taking some time off,” while Bungie works on some changes.

For Season 3, Faction Rallies will be overhauled to make player choices “meaningful,” rewards to no longer be time-gated, and for the events themselves to “provide a unique gameplay experience and not simply be a reward layer on top of the existing game.” Players can also expect the Faction Rallies to “grant additional insight into faction lore and goals,” and they “should build upon player interest in Lost Sectors and armor ornament objectives.”

It isn’t totally clear how these changes will translate into the actual gameplay on offer, but we shouldn’t have to wait long to see what exactly Bungie is talking about.

Xur makes a return this weekend, so be sure to look out for our weekly post showing his new location and inventory. Remember, he only sticks around for a few short days!
