Battlefield 1 Incursions Mode Officially Returns for the PS4, Xbox One and PC

The Battlefield 1 Incursions mode is officially making a return, with it set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Incursions contain 5v5 focused battles for the most skilled Battlefield 1 players with EA making a few changes to the overall experience. Incursions has been made available for all Battlefield 1 Incursions Community Environment participants on the PC, and Battlefield 1 Community Test Environment participants on consoles.

According to the forum post by EA representative Braddock512, EA is introducing a Practice Mode to help players familiarize themselves with Incursions. Players can learn more about what a good team composition looks like or what a winning strategy is before diving into the real thing. Practice Matches will not have any effect on Player Ranking.

There will also be penalties for players who quit in the middle of Ranked Matches. For example, abandoning one match will prevent players from matchmaking for five minutes following the end of the match that they left. The locking out period will increase as players abandon more matches, including up to one hour for abandoning two matches and 24 hours for abandoning three matches.

Another big change implemented by EA for this round of Incursions is the in-game progression system. Instead of being centered around time alive and the number of kills, teamplay will be better rewarded when players perform tasks that benefit the team. For instance, the Trench Surgeon will get experience for healing and reviving their teammates, with the amount of experience gained now being viewable on the in-game HUD.

Additionally, there are a lot of kit and progression updates for every class, as well as many more general updates which affect weapons, gadgets, vehicles, maps, systems, and options. In other related news, there’s a rumor going around that Battlefield 2018 will have the same campaign structure as Battlefield 1 and that it will only contain cosmetic loot boxes.
