The Kingdom Hearts 3 release date has finally been confirmed, though the highly anticipated Square Enix RPG has once again been delayed. Originally scheduled to release in 2018, the game will now make its way to PS4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. The news was announced during E3 2018, though didn’t take place during the Square Enix press conference, with it being revealed on Twitter by the official Square Enix account.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date: When Will Kingdom Hearts 3 Be Released?
Square Enix had previously insisted that it would release in 2018, though it never nailed down a definite date for the third entry in the mainline Kingdom Hearts series. However, ahead of the company’s press conference on Monday, its official Twitter account jumped ahead of the inevitable disappointment by quietly making the announcement ahead of schedule:

Kingdom Hearts 3 was one of the biggest releases planned for 2018, though it has now been pushed back to allow for some extra polish. The game’s director, Tetsuya Nomura, apologized to fans for this new delay. “I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned,” he tweeted. “Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you – Nomura.”
Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to feature prominently in Square Enix’s E3 2018 press conference, with the PS4 and Xbox One JRPG likely heading up a presentation that could also include Final Fantasy VII Remake. Hopefully, Square has some concrete information regarding the release of its upcoming episodic reimagining of the PlayStation classic, and that it won’t include another delay of one of its most hotly anticipated upcoming games.
