The Division 2 Promotional Banner E3 2018

The Division 2 Might Take Place in Washington DC, Weapons Revealed in Banner at E3 2018

Things are kicking off for E3 2018 as we have seen the first press conference of the event just yesterday with EA Play. Ubisoft will be one of the major developers holding a press conference at this year’s E3 and it will be happening on June 11th at 1 pm PT. We will surely be learning more of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 in two days but someone on Reddit has already spotted something which purportedly confirms the setting of the game, as well as several weapons.

User The_Betrayer1 posted a thread about the weapons he could identify from a promotional banner of Tom Clancy’s The Divison 2 at E3 2018. The banner shows three characters equipped with several weapons each, some of which can be seen clearly enough to identify. The male on the right seems to be holding a CDX-TAC rifle with a Kriss Vector and .338 Lapua Magnum on his back.

The woman in the middle seems to be holding an H&K G3 battle rifle, with a Milkor M321 6 shot 40mm grenade launcher on her back. Meanwhile, the man on the left is holding a modern crossbow along with what might be a Benelli M4 H20 shotgun on his back.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: Washington DC Setting

The background in the banner for The Division 2 depicts what looks like a war-torn ravaged Washington DC. We can see the iconic US Capitol building with smoke coming out of its dome. In the first game, players participated in intense firefights across a similarly ravaged New York City. The new Washington DC setting reminds me of the post-apocalyptic wasteland in Fallout 3.

Tom Clancy’s The Divison 2 was initially announced in March 2018, with Massive Entertainment returning to develop the game. It will be powered with an updated version of the Snowdrop Engine, Other Ubisoft studios will be collaborating during development as well. However, considering that the banner is intended for promotional use, there’s always a chance that it might be a placeholder. As such, everything we see on the banner might not even be in the final version of the game.
