Publisher Deep Silver has announced the release date for Dead Island: Riptide, a spin-off that picks up right where the original Dead Island left off, as April 23, 2013 for North America. The worldwide release will be three days later on April 26, 2013.
Those who pre-order the title will get a set of exclusive weapon mods to help eradicate the zombies pervading Palanai Island. The special edition includes the pre-order pack as well as an alternate character skin. There will be differences between special editions in various territories, which will be announced at a later date.
