Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn has been out for a month now. People who purchased the game were promised a “Bonus Fu” DLC later down the line, and today we’ve found out what that DLC is… enter Barack Obama, former President of the United States.
Barack Fu: The Adventures of Dirty Barry puts you in the shoes of the 44th POTUS on a mission to solve a string of celebrity murders. You do this by punching, kicking, and shooting with a variety of martial arts moves and weapons. You can even call in ‘Peace Prize’ drone strike, in an on-the-nose reference by Wired Productions to the heightened frequency of drone use under Obama’s two terms. As well as all this, you can power up into a ‘Dirty Barry’ mode.
The Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn DLC is a mini-adventure, that has you travelling to Paris and even into outer space at some point. Unfortunately, unlike the mainline game which features actual ex-NBA star Shaquille O’Neal voicing his on-screen counterpart, Barack isn’t actually involved with this one himself. Instead, he’s portrayed by a parody impersonator – we have yet to confirm who will be performing this role.
There are going to be a few big-name bosses in Barack Fu, though each has modified names in order to dodge defamation lawsuits. There’s Marine Le Pig, who is definitely not President of the French National Rally (former National Front) party. You’ll even go toe-to-toe with Con-Ye, who bears a striking (but legally distinct) resemblance to rap artist Kanye West. Kanye has previously been critical of the Obama administration, which is no surprise given his recent support for Donald Trump. As icing on the cake, you will apparently get the achievement “The Death of Pablo” upon defeating Con-Ye.
Barack Fu: The Adventures of Dirty Barry is out now for all owners of retail copies of Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, in the form of a free update. We don’t yet know if the DLC will be available to purchase for owners of the digital version of the game.
