Ubisoft Currently Eyeing THQ’s Intellectual Properties

The writing is on the wall for THQ, the failing publisher that is currently struggling to make ends meet. But it doesn't all have to be doom and gloom, as there's no doubt that the company's successful IPs will live on elsewhere should THQ end up biting the dust.

In an interview with GamesIndustry, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot admitted that he is interested in acquiring a few of their properties, saying, "They have good things. We are always interested in good brands. For sure, it’s something we can consider, but I can’t tell you more."

Guillemot also commented on the current state of THQ, noting that while the demise of any company is tough, that's just the way this industry works. "What happened to [THQ] is something that happens regularly when we have transition. Some can make it, some decide to go in different direction. It happened with Atari and Midway and also Acclaim last generation. It’s something that happens in this industry and that’s the way the industry consolidates."

If you were a Ubisoft exec, which properties from THQ would you be eyeing? Let us know in the comments.
