Batman’s Access to Arkham City Delayed

The follow up to 2009's award-winning Batman: Arkham Asylum was supposed to arrive the first week of October. However, according to Warner Bros. official site, Batman won't be cleaning up the thug-filled streets of Arkham City for another two weeks on October 18th.

Not a major delay, but when a game is this anticipated even two weeks can feel like an eternity. The good news is that those two weeks, especially this late in the development cycle, could mean the extra spit-shine polishing that is needed to bring the game to Game of the Year status.

2 years ago, Arkham Asylum would have been a shoo-in for Game of the Year had it not been for Naughty Dog's PS3 exclusive, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. This year, Batman: Arkham City will again be facing off against Uncharted, with the third installment, Drake's Deception. Despite the stiff competition, Arkham Asylum won a number of awards and proved that games based on comic book characters don't have to suck.
