Ubisoft Partnering With New Regency On Splinter Cell Film

It looks like Ubisoft Motion Pictures' Splinter Cell film is now one step closer to becoming a reality. Tom Hardy is already set to star as the movie's leading man, and now Ubi has managed to strike up a partnership deal with New Regency.

While Ubisoft was allegedly considering going with Warner or Paramount, their decision shouldn't come as all too much of a surprise, especially in light of the fact that the company is already working with New Regency to bring Assassin's Creed to the big screen.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet discussed the decision, saying, “For Ubisoft Motion Pictures, creative control is key and New Regency shares our commitment to respecting the creative freedom of our team. Their ability to produce both blockbusters and intriguing indie hits is an ideal fit for the Splinter Cell franchise.”
