ARK Survival Evolved Switch Release Date Announced

The ARK Survival Evolved Switch port has just secured a release date. It turns out that we’ll be surviving against and fighting with dinosaurs on the go very soon. The ARK Survival Evolved Switch release date has been confirmed as November 30, 2018. This leaves us with around a month to sharpen our weapons in preparation.

To confirm the release date of ARK Survival Evolved Switch, Studio Wildcard took to YouTube with a trailer. You can watch the (largely live-action) trailer below:

Accompanying the release date trailer, the official ARK Survival Evolved YouTube account gave some details on the port, pushing the Switch’s portable elements. “Get ready to tame dinosaurs, conquer enemies and create enormous structures anywhere – on the couch, in bed, on a bus or even at school.” The game has you “stranded on a mysterious prehistoric island, you must explore its vast biomes as you begin to hunt, harvest, craft tools, grow crops and build shelters to survive. Use cunning and skill to kill, tame, breed, and even ride Dinosaurs and other primitive beasts living on The ARK.”

As with the PS4, PC, and Xbox One editions of the game Switch owners will be able to play ARK Survival Evolved as a singleplayer, or co-op experience. “Advance your technology from primitive stone tools to T-Rex-mounted laser cannons, as you team up with hundreds of players online or enjoy a solo Jurassic experience.” ARK Survival Evolved originally released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in August 2017. It has since been ported to iOS and Android devices, in June earlier this year.

Releasing alongside ARK Survival Evolved on Switch later this year is Civilization 6, making these two games the latest in a long list of modern games being ported to Nintendo’s little hybrid machine. We’ll be able to create and develop our very own civilizations and fight against, and with dinosaurs on the bus in November. A typical commute, really.
