Okami Announcement Coming Next Week To Coincide With Seventh Anniversary Of Original

Can you believe that nearly seven years have passed since Okami originally released for the PS2? To celebrate the orignal's anniversary, a new game announcement may be coming next week.

The official Okami Twitter account is teasing the reveal for Japan's Golden Week, which runs April 29th to May 5th. They say they're going to "drop a fresh announcement like announcement like WHAM!" And I fucking love George Michael. So this is gonna be fantastic.

As Gematsu points out, Famitsu magazine is teasing a big announcement for their next issue, due out on newsstands on May 9th. It very well could be the same game. Then again, with E3 right around the corner, anything is possible.

With a stroke of luck, this will be a PlayStation Vita title, since Okami would look stunning on the Vita's OLED display, would work well with touch controls, and shit, the PlayStation Vita needs more games.
