Overwatch free trial starts today and ends next week

The story-based Storm Rising missions just opened up for Overwatch, giving die-hard fans something to do in-between their competitive rounds. But what about those gamers that don’t have the game yet? Relax – Blizzard has you covered with the upcoming Overwatch free trial.

The publisher announced on its blog page today that it has once again offered up a free trial for the game. Players can download it in its entirety and try out all the heroes, maps, and features at no charge. But hurry – you won’t have long to check it out, as it’ll only last through April 23.

This is across the board as well. This is not just for PC fans as the trial is also available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners. Everyone can get in on the action and see what Storm Rising — and the rest of the game — is all about.

To play on PC, you simply need to install the Blizzard Battle.net desktop app and create a free account. Once you do that, you’ll see the Overwatch icon. Click on that and you’ll see a trial available.

If you’re on the console front, simply head over to the Overwatch page on either the Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Store, depending on your console. You’ll see an option to download the trial. Once you do that, it’ll be all set to go once it’s finished.

Any progress that you make within the game will carry over into a final purchase, in case the game wins you over enough. So, no, you won’t have to start all over again, which is great news.

The Legendary Edition of the game is on sale right now. You can snag it on the PlayStation Store for just $19.79 or Xbox One for $24. The sale is happening through April 23, so you’ve got time to get a great deal.
