Control PS4 exclusive expansions eventually coming to Xbox One and PC

Control PS4 exclusive expansion packs will eventually hit other platforms

Remedy and 505 Games have revealed that the Control PS4 exclusive expansion packs will eventually make their way to other platforms. While they’ll initially appear on PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and PC versions of the game will be receiving these some time later after the August 27 launch date.

Control comes to PlayStation 4 with a number of exclusives. Of these, Remedy has confirmed that the two expansion packs, called “The Foundation” and “Awe,” are only timed exclusives.

As for just how long the expansions will be exclusive, Thomas Puha, communications director at Remedy Entertainment, stated that it shouldn’t be too long. Speaking to Wccftech, Puha mentions that “all the expansion pass will be available on all platforms, but I can’t say what the exclusivity window is, except it’s not very long.”

Aside from the expansions packs, the PlayStation 4 version receives exclusive weapon and character mods, as well as the Astral Dive suit. On top of this, players who get the digital deluxe edition will gain access to an exclusive mission.

Control focuses on the fictional Federal Bureau of Control. An agency tasked with investigating supernatural phenomena, players take control (pun intended) of its newest director, Jesse Falden. The game runs on Remedy’s Northlight Engine that powered Quantum Break. As with that game, Control once again follows in Remedy’s tradition of adding unique mechanics to their third-person shooters.

This manifests in the “Service Weapon,” which can be changed to different forms depending on the situation. In addition to this, Jesse can also wield a number of supernatural powers. These range from telekinesis, levitation, as well as the ability to control certain enemies. Players can upgrade both the Service Weapon and Jesse’s powers through the use of “Objects of Power.” Players can find these and then use them to expand Jesse’s skill tree and gain access to different upgrades.
