Harry Potter: Wizards Unite fan festival to be held in Indianapolis

The first-ever community event for the mobile wizarding sensation is coming at the end of summer. The Harry Potter: Wizards Unite fan festival will take place in Indianapolis from August 31 to September 1, 2019. Wizards and witches will gather in the White River State Park for activities and interactive experiences through the lens of Harry Potter.

Following in the footsteps of Niantic’s previous hit Pokemon Go, it was only a matter of time before Harry Potter: Wizards Unite got a real-life community event. The gathering in Indianapolis will no doubt be the first of many live community events that the game will produce. While the exact details of the goings-on are scarce, we know a little bit about what to expect at the first magical gathering.

According to a press release, the community event will center around solving the mystery of chaotic magical activity around Indianapolis. Working together, players will explore the city’s White River State Park and find magical artifacts while encountering fantastical beasts. The usual spellcasting and running around with friends old and new will be the cornerstone of the event.

There is no information yet on tickets and availability. However, it’s recommended that you bookmark the official Fan Festival page to keep up-to-date with the latest information, including ticket sales. Over the next few weeks, more information will be revealed on how to enter the lottery to buy tickets. Since tickets will likely be limited, make sure to get your name in the lottery as soon as you can if interested.

For those who would be coming to Indianapolis from out of town, the tourism site Visit Indy is granting special rates for the festival. While booking doesn’t guarantee you entry to the community event, it’s a good idea to keep it bookmarked should you win the ticket lottery.
