Dragon Quest X Is Arriving In September For PC

Previously console exclusive developers are beginning to consider PC a viable platform for their major releases. Among them is Square Enix.

Square Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online is coming to PC. It's scheduled to debut on September 26th in Japan and will have a special edition that includes a gamepad.

DQX is the first in the 27 year old series to be entirely focused on multiplayer. It's an MMO, and one that received a lot of praise when its Wii version released in Japan last year. It recently came to the Wii U and there have been rumors that a stateside release is imminent.

One of the best things that can be said about DQX is its adherence to the classic JRPG formula. This isn't like Final Fantasy where it's all about appealing to the masses and blowing your mind with the best visuals on the market. Instead, DQX focuses on gameplay and long-term play value, the two things that enthralled young gamers during the PS1 era.
