McDonald’s drops Dragon Quest menu featuring epic collectible figures
Square Enix is celebrating its popular video game franchise Dragon Quest’s 40th anniversary in a delicious way. The company has collaborated with the food chain giant, McDonald’s, to introduce several game-themed toys and food options (via Bimi Japan).
The release will be carried out in multiple stages. Its first stage, Volume 1, began in late December 2025, which focused on the Slime, one of the game’s most recognizable creatures. It introduced a premium collectible set, Slime in Slime. This set includes five dolls that function like stackable toys, where the main doll will be similar to Slime from the game. The remaining four, however, are based on McDonald’s mascots, such as Grimace, Birdie, the Hamburglar, and a Metal Slime.
Unlike Happy Meal toys, these items are sold separately for around $20 USD. And to make things harder, these will be available to purchase only through a lottery system. Interested customers must enter through the McDonald’s official mobile app, using loyalty points for a chance to buy the set.
In the second wave, which began on January 7, 2026, the collaboration introduced a limited-edition burger series called Dragon Quest Burgers. These burgers will come in game-themed packaging. They include:
- Rough-Cut Potato & Thick Beef Addictive Consomme Pepper Mayo
- Cheese Double Teriyaki
- Hot Chili & Tartar Chicken
Finally, to complete the set, the menu also includes a Slime-themed carbonated drink, described as having a creamy, sweet yogurt-like taste. It jas two variants:
- Mac Fizz® Refreshing Yogurt Soda Flavor
- Mac Float® Refreshing Yogurt Soda Flavor
Furthermore, fans can find giant banners featuring the crossover in several places in Roppongi Hills.
