[Update: Taken Down] Ouya Retweet Tacitly Endorses Piracy On Android Console

[Update]: Ouya has removed the tweet. We'll update once again with comment if there is any.

Ouya launches today and to celebrate, the console's official Twitter account retweeted this message from a customer using the open source Android console to play emulated versions of classic Nintendo games.

"Use current controllers, expand ports, and #retro games" may be reasons 14-17 to own an Ouya for this fan, but stealing games and intellectual property from other hardware manufacturers probably shouldn't be something you promote in launching a competing console.

Apparently, the Ouya store does not allow for ROMs, although emulator programs are allowed so long as they don't provide access to unlicensed games. I've never been really interested or even mildly curious about the Ouya, but this leaves quite a sour taste in my mouth.

Despite hoping to compete with the big three console manufacturers in stores like GameStop, this attitude towards emulation and pirated games could turn ugly for the fledgling builder of mini-consoles-no-one-gives-a-shit-about-unless-they-donated-to-the-project.
