Sony Gamescom Press Conference Details Confirmed

Sony has confirmed that it will be holding its Gamescom press conference this year on Tuesday, August 20th, at 7pm Central European Time (1pm Eastern) at the Saatenhaus am Rheinpark in Cologne, Germany.

With the PlayStation 4 set to launch later this year, you can expect Sony to have a few next-gen surprises up its sleeve for the show. In addition, we may even hear about a PS3 price cut, which will undoubtedly make the Blu-ray enabled machine much more appealing to holiday shoppers who haven't already hopped on the Sony bandwagon.

Then there's the Vita, Sony's struggling handheld, which got hardly any love during the company's E3 presser. Expect the portable to get a bit more of the spotlight this time around, as this holiday season will serve as a major make-or-break moment for the device.

What do you think Sony will show off and/or announce at Gamescom this year? Let us know in the comments below.
