Live Events Viewer App Available Today On PS3

Today when the PlayStation Store updates, a new Live Events Viewer app will be available to download for the PS3. Sony says that users can view live music, sports, and other entertainment, such as this weekend's WWE Pay-Per-View event, SummerSlam.

While SummerSlam and many others are available on a paid basis, other live events can be viewed for free. The app is free to download and requires no extra subscriptions are needed, which is the real benefit. Even watching a PPV event on cable first requires the cable subscription. This, does not. Well, sort of—it still needs your Internet connection, which you likely subscribe to with a cable company.

Think this app will get put to good use? Or will you stick to watching PPV events on cable?
