Resident Evil 3 remake Nemesis safe rooms

No, Nemesis can’t break into safe rooms in Resident Evil 3 remake (Update)

Update: According to Capcom PR, OXM was incorrect in their statement that Nemesis could follow the player into safe rooms in Resident Evil 3 remake. Apparently, the location the writer from OXM was talking about had a typewriter, but was not a designated safe room, much like the main hall of the RPD in Resident Evil 2 remake. It seems that players can breathe a sigh of relief as Nemesis can’t follow you into safe rooms, and they’re as safe as they’ve been since the first game was released in 1996.

Original Article: Safe rooms are a longstanding tradition in games, and the Resident Evil 3 remake is reportedly going to be throwing that tradition out a third-story window. For the first time in the franchise’s history, Nemesis will be able to break into the safe rooms of the Resident Evil 3 remake.

A spoiler-heavy submission on the /r/residentevil subreddit details new information about the game from the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. There’s a lot of good info in there, but one of the biggest bits of news is that Nemesis will be able to break into safe rooms. Not so safe now, are we?

According to this Redditor’s report, the developers collected feedback from player experiences against Mr. X in the Resident Evil 2 remake. (That’s right, they ran an Umbrella-esque experiment on us!) They wanted to make Nemesis much scarier than the dapper demon from RE2, and this was their solution.

The remake of the third Resident Evil game comes out on April 3, 2020. Just remember: you can run, but you can’t hide.
