PS3 Firmware Update Adds PS Plus Feature To All Users

The latest update for PlayStation 3 is now available for download. Firmware 4.50 brings with it a number of perks, especially for those who have yet to subscribe to Sony's premium online service.

The auto-download feature is now available to all PlayStation 3 users, so even those without a PlayStation Plus subscription will be able to enjoy the convenience that comes with this option. In addition, the new update makes it possible to transfer data between your PlayStation 3 and Vita through either wi-fi or ethernet. Up until now, you needed to use a USB cable.

If that weren't enough, trophy sharing options have changed, adding the ability to choose who can see your in-game achievements, and which ones to display. Not too shabby, eh?
