Crash 4 has finally been revealed as the next core game in a beloved platforming franchise, and there are some nice surprises in store. Crash Bandicoot 4 is arriving later this year — and it’s going to be a multiplatform release.
There have been a ton of Crash Bandicoot games over the years, but only three of them were core titles with the classic platforming gameplay. Now, a new adventure is on the way! Crash 4 is going to let you play as Crash, Coco, and even Dr. Cortex with shiny modern graphics.
The return of one of gaming’s classic characters isn’t the only surprise that was revealed today. The next Crash Bandicoot game is going to be a multiplatform release. According to the trailer end card, the game will be launching for the PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. However, it’s not clear if the Xbox Series X port will be just a slightly juiced port of the One X version or a full game native to the platform given the vague details surrounding it and the high likelihood of it releasing before the new consoles.
Unfortunately, no PS5 or Nintendo Switch release has been confirmed just yet. You can see this upcoming game in motion in the Crash 4 trailer below. You’ll be able to get your hands on the next Crash Bandicoot game when it launches on October 2, 2020.
