Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat, formerly known as DMC: Pinnacle of Combat, is bringing Capcom’s stylish action series to mobile for the first time. It’s in development at Chinese studio Yunchang Games and coming to iOS and Android devices in China this summer. What about the rest of the world, though? Is there a global Devil May Cry mobile release date? Here’s the latest on DMC mobile coming to the Western world and elsewhere.
When is the Devil May Cry mobile release date?
Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat is due to release in summer 2021. The game will seemingly launch exclusively in the Chinese market, as there’s been no word on a DMC: Peak of Combat release date outside of the region.
Since Devil May Cry is a popular global brand, it seems unlikely that Capcom would be content with indefinite Chinese exclusivity. It’s possible that China is a test market for the game, which could then expand into different regions. This is just speculation, of course, but it’d make the most business sense.
When Capcom finally pushed its long-running Monster Hunter series in the West, Monster Hunter World achieved landmark sales. Keeping DMC mobile under wraps arguably wouldn’t make sense, though, with China’s involvement, anything could happen.
DMC: Peak of Combat made an appearance during the recent Apple event, with gameplay showcased on an iPad Pro using a DualSense controller. The title will also feature touch controls, though that might make pulling off the series’ signature smokin’ stylish combos even more tricky than usual.
