Apex Legends dev leaks Titan Battery and Arc Tool during stream

Apex Legends‘ Principal Animator, Moy Parra, accidentally streamed themself working on the game recently. During the live stream, fans were quick to spot a couple of new items that should be familiar to Titanfall players. An Apex Legends Titan Battery and Arc Tool appear as in-game assets, hinting that Titans could finally be on the way.

Apex Legends Titan Battery and Arc Tool assets explained

Apex Legends Titan Battery and Arc Tool

In Titanfall, Pilots can rodeo Titans to extract their batteries; it’s then possible to use a Titan Battery to replenish the health of allied Titans. Since Titan Batteries don’t serve any purpose outside of interacting with mechs, this is a clear indicator that pilotable Titans could come to Apex Legends in a future update.

The Arc Tool, meanwhile, is a Pilot sidearm that appears in the TF2 campaign. It’s possible that a new Legend familiar with Titan tech could wield the Arc Tool as an ability. Its purpose is more for utility — hacking, opening doors, moving platforms, etc. — which would make it a good candidate for such a role.

Of course, it’s also possible that the Apex Legends Arc Tool and Titan Battery items are placeholder assets. These weren’t meant to be on public display, so fans could simply be reading too much into their appearance. Titan Batteries have also been in the Apex Legends game files for more than a year now, yet there’s still no sign of them in the live build.

Whether these new items make it into the game or not, it’s interesting to see more Apex Legends x Titanfall crossovers going on behind the scenes. Stay tuned to GameRevolution for updates on what it might all mean.
