Minecraft 1.19 The Wild

Minecraft’s The Wild patch overhauls swamp biome in a big way

The Minecraft 1.19 update will be upon us soon, titled The Wild. Fittingly, it’ll overhaul the slightly murkier parts of Minecraft, with vast changes to swamps, dirt, and plenty of new animals to observe. We’ve got details on the Minecraft 1.1.9 update release date, as well as what comes in The Wild patch.

When is the Minecraft 1.19 The Wild patch release date?

Minecraft 1.19 The Wild

The Minecraft 1.19 update release date is 2022.

Unfortunately, there is not yet a confirmed exact day when the Minecraft 1.19 patch will land in 2022.

Yes, the update is still a little way off. That’s because Minecraft 1.18, the second part of the Caves and Cliffs expansion, is still yet to release. That’s due for launch in November or December, roughly six months after the first installment. Going off that time frame, you can expect Minecraft 1.19, or The Wild, to release somewhere in summer 2022.

It might seem a long way off, but the additions in The Wild will greatly improve your Minecraft experience. The biggest changes are coming to swamps, with new biomes on the way. Mangrove trees will be added in this update, which grow in swamps. Harvesting them grants you a brand-new wood type. As such, you’ll have to explore swamps if you want the new resource. Luckily, all-new mangrove swamp biomes are being added, to increase the amount of this wood you can harvest from each swamp.

Elsewhere, Mojang is adding some fittingly swamp-themed creatures to the game. Frogs will finally release in Minecraft in The Wild patch. They start life as tadpoles before growing into different frog variations, which are based on the temperature of the biome they’re in. They feed off fireflies, another new addition in Minecraft 1.19, and can hop across lily pads upon the water.

There’s also a change to boats, which can now spawn with chests in them. This can grant your extra storage while sailing across your world, and will certainly come in handy during risky encounters. However, these updates are still a long way off, so don’t hold your breath for any new info quite yet.

In other news, the upcoming Batgirl movie could spell yet another return for beloved Batman, Michael Keaton.
