Ghost Recon Over Release Date

Rumored Ghost Recon “Over” Could Get a Release Date Within this Year

The next main Ghost Recon game is already in development with the codenamed Ghost Recon “Over” release date already set within the fiscal year 2023, according to a recent report. That means we might see Ghost Recon “Over” before the year is out, given that Ghost Recon Breakpoint will not be receiving any future updates.

What we know about Ghost Recon “Over” so far

Ghost Recon “Over” has been in the pipeline for over a year, say sources to Kotaku. This clarifies an earlier datamined list in September 2021 from Nvidia’s GeForce Now service, a list which Ubisoft had reportedly asked to be taken down. Previously hosted on Github, the list had four projects—Meteor, Q, Over, Orlando—most of which eventually were revealed to be DLC for various Ubisoft games.

However, “Over” by Ubisoft Paris seems to be still unannounced. In fact, instead of unveiling this game for the 20th anniversary of Ghost Recon last year, sources say the publisher went instead with the announcement of the free-to-play live-service Ghost Recon Frontline. Since then, Ghost Recon Frontline has apparently received a “reset” in response to negative fan feedback, as noted by the full announcement video on YouTube which (at the time of this writing) has 8.4 thousand likes to 32 thousand dislikes.

This rumor of the Ghost Recon “Over” release date comes off the heels of the announcement of Rainbow Six Mobile and a notice that Ghost Recon Breakpoint would no longer have any future updates. The tweet with the notice stated that the “final piece of content” for the game was the Operation Motherland mode and the controversial Quartz NFT items.

In other news, the latest patch for Horizon Forbidden West has finally fixed the strength level of the game’s legendary weapons, and the next Gears of War game looks to be an open-world title powered by Unreal Engine 5.
