The Fortnite Rainbow Royale event to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community began earlier today, August 31. Not only can players head over to the Rainbow Crossroads and claim free themed items, but they can also listen to Rainbow Radio. This features music from artists in the LGBTQIA+ community, one of which is Lady Gaga and adds further evidence towards a leak that suggests there may even be a Lady Gaga concert coming soon.

Fortnite dataminers have discovered a “Jug Band” emote that can be used by four players to create what sounds suspiciously like a rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” song (thanks Kotaku). Previous data leaks have found mentions of concert props like a stage, scaffolding, and speakers that suggest something could be happening soon. While many now suspect the concert will be led by Lady Gaga, others are hoping artists like Juice WRLD or Marshmello could be included too. For now, take the rumors with a pinch of salt until Epic Games confirms otherwise.
The Rainbow Royale radio station is due to go live on September 8 and will feature music from Janelle Monáe, Lil Nas X, Todrick Hall, King Princess, Kim Petras, Lady Gaga, and “other global LGBTQIA+ artists”. Before this, September 6 is when players can compete in the Dreamer Cup, a Zero Build Squads tournament where players can win the Dreamer Outfit before it is available in the item shop.
The Rainbow Crossroads island is available from today for players to relax and hang out. As well as a variety of mini-games like kart racing and Whirly Jump, there’s a Fortography Studio and hidden easter eggs that reference DC Super Hero Dreamer. The island can be reached using the code 0487-8528-5944. Finally, there’s a variety of free Rainbow Royale-themed items that can be grabbed from the item shop, while the Rainbow Royale 2021 items are also available again. The new items are:

- Every Heart Emoticon: Heart of hues
- Prismatic Keepsakes Spray: Leave your mark… and some mementos.
- Say It Proud Lobby Track: Press play and celebrate Rainbow Royale 2022.

- Rainbow Royale 2021 Loading Screen: Everyone’s welcome aboard the Battle Bus.
In other news, the latest rumors claim there’ll be a Nintendo Direct in September with The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and Twilight Princess Switch ports. Elsewhere, FIFA 23 was released early on Xbox One and those leaking content have been threatened with account bans.
