Microsoft To Accept Free-To-Play Games

With Valve's gracious induction of Team Fortress 2 into the free-to-play world for the masses to enjoy, it's good news to hear that Microsoft is in talks with developers on how to support this model, according a report in Develop magazine. Now, Microsoft has been flirting with free-to-play world well before the recent surge of free-to-play coverage, but it looks their hitting the serious track.

Specifically, Microsoft is trying to see what they would need to change in Xbox Live to allow developers to offer their products for free but make micro-transactions – how free-to-play developers feed their families – visible and, I would ask, how aggressively visible. However they do it, though, let's hope that Team Fortress 2 becomes free-to-play for console gamers too!
