Pachter: “Not Possible” For Xbox One To Beat PS4 At $500 Price Point

Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter is confident that PlayStation 4 will be able to maintain a lead over Xbox One so long as it remains the cheaper console.

On the latest episode of the Bonus Round, Pachter said of Sony, "They've won as long as they have a $100 price advantage. Microsoft will not turn that around. It's not possible." Microsoft has been touting the value proposition of Kinect and Xbox One's television features, but Pachter doesn't believe that's compelling enough to sway the average gamer.

With Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall on the horizon, is it really necessary for Microsoft to cut price in order to pull ahead of Sony? Does Kinect justify the $500 price tag? I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things shake out during the next few months.
