Titanfall Resolution Confirmed, 792p on Xbox One [Update: Not Changing for Launch]

[Update] Respawn Entertainment lead engineer Richard Baker has confirmed to Digital Foundry that the final version of Titanfall on Xbox One will boast the same native resolution it had during the beta: 792p.

Baker explained that while this may be the case at launch, the studio is still looking into ways the resolution can be improved in the future.

We've been experimenting with making it higher and lower. One of the big tricks is how much ESRAM we're going to use, so we're thinking of not using hardware MSAA and instead using FXAA to make it so we don't have to have this larger render target.

We're going to experiment. The target is either 1080p non-anti-aliased or 900p with FXAA. We're trying to optimise… we don't want to give up anything for higher res. So far we're not 100 per cent happy with any of the options, we're still working on it. For day one it's not going to change. We're still looking at it for post-day one. We're likely to increase resolution after we ship.

If you haven't already done so, be sure to read our preview for Titanfall to get hyped for its release on Xbox One and PC tomorrow.

[Original] Titanfall currently runs at a native 792p resolution on Xbox One, Respawn Entertainment community manager Abbie Heppe has confirmed.

It's important to note that the resolution may change as we get closer to launch, as the current pixel count is only in relation to the beta. Heppe went on to state that the team is hoping to get Titanfall up to 900p native in the final build. Whether or not they'll be able to achieve this remains to be seen, but at least they've managed to bump it up from 720p.

Are you caught up in the whole resolution discussion? Is Xbox One's apparent inability to run many games in 1080p natively a concern for you?
