Demon’s Souls 2 “100%” Not Happening, Atlus Confirms

Despite the success that From Software and Bandai Namco have had with the Dark Souls franchise, Atlus has no intention of continuing the series that started it all.

"[We] can 100% confirm there will NOT be a Demon Souls 2," John Hardin, the PR Manager at Atlus said in the comments section of the PlayStation Blog.

I find this decision a bit odd, as Dark Souls has proven to be insanely popular. Wouldn't it make financial sense for Sony and Atlus to attempt to put together a sequel to Demon's Souls? It would be a fantastic exclusive to have for PlayStation 4 owners. Perhaps there just isn't the development talent available to pull it off?

Would you have liked to seen a sequel to Demon's Souls, or is Dark Souls enough to satiate your need for punishing difficulty?
