[Original] In a post on the game's website Carbine Studios and NCSoft have announced that the beta test servers for Wildstar will be open to all on Thursday, meaning anyone with a passing interest in one the more exciting MMOs can create their own character and try the gameplay for free ahead of launch.

The Standard Edition of the game costs $59.99 while the Digital Deluxe Edition will run you $74.99 and subscription fees will slowly stack up, especially if you invest in a few months at launch. That means this open beta is your chance to see if Wildstar is worth sticking with over The Elder Scrolls Online or if it'll stave off your desire to resub to World of Warcraft over the summer.

"From May 8th to May 18th, you will be able to visit our Open Beta page to request a key, and then hop into WildStar to experience content up to level 30," the developer writes. That's a huge chunk of gameplay for a beta, but we know the diehard genre-fanatics on GameRevolution will waste no time hitting the cap.

The developer says players will be able to travel to Farside, embark on a Galeras Adventure, try two new abilities with a new ability slot, and add tier points to give your abilities more power.
