Here’s Why Sunset Overdrive Is an Xbox One Exclusive

For the longest time, Insomniac Games made titles exclusively for the PlayStation platform, only bucking that trend last year with its first multiplatform release, Fuse. Now the studio has gone one step further and joined forces with Microsoft to make its first Xbox exclusive, Sunset Overdrive, which will launch on Xbox One later this year.

With regard to why the team decided to work exclusively with Microsoft this time around, Insomniac explained on Twitter that it "wasn't about money" but rather "about our controlling and owning the IP, and their belief and desire to execute our vision with us."

The studio went on to add that "retaining our IP is always our number one concern. Microsoft is funding and publishing the game and believes in the idea."
