No Upgrade Discount for The Last of Us Remastered

Despite having done so in the past with prior cross-generation titles, Sony is not offering any special discount to gamers who already own the PlayStation 3 version of The Last of Us that are looking to purchase the remastered version for PS4.

"Alas, there is no upgrade discount," Sony Computer Entertainment's Fred Dutton confirmed in response to a question posed on the PlayStation Blog.

It's a real shame there won't be a discount, as the team revealed it was looking into the possibility of some sort of deal for prior owners just a few months ago. I guess Sony thinks there's enough value and demand for the re-release that it doesn't merit any sort of financial incentive.

The Last of Us Remastered launches on July 30th, exclusively for PlayStation 4. Will you be picking it up even though there's no PS3-owner discount?
