New Fortnite Video From Epic Games Goes In-Depth on “Defend the Fort”

Developers Cameron Winston and KL Smith of Epic Games have a lot to say about their new game, Fortnite which will combine crafting, shooting, and role-playing in a multiplayer setting with both competitive and cooperative elements.

I guess you could liken it to Gears of War 2's Horde mode though many different elements will change how players defend and attack given that you'll need to harvest materials in order to build certain structures.

Obviously, you can still blast away at enemies even though it seems (as is the case with Battlefield 3's fantastic multiplayer) that playing a role and earning yourself a reputation for being really good at something will make friends on your team.

We had early impressions of the game back in 2012, so details may have changed. Epic Games is currently planning on offering Fortnite as a free-to-play game, so we'll keep an eye on development. Look for more on GameRevolution soon.
