Sony’s Latest Xperia Mobile Devices Will Support PS4 Remote Play

Sony's Xperia Z3 series of mobile devices will allow PlayStation 4 owners to use the device to enjoy next-generation console games on the go via remote play.

While the Xperia Z3 Tablet can act "as a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4", Sony will offer an attachment that holds a smaller screen above the controller while you play. Overall, it sounds like a neat feature for anyone with a particular fondness for Sony devices even if I've only used remote play a few times on my PlayStation Vita and found the experience less than desirable when compared against a TV.

"Whether you're playing a game or watching a movie, your entertainment is enhanced with Sony's latest TV and audio technologies," the SonyMobile blog states. I think it would be more accurate to say that your access to entertainment is enhanced by these features, though without having actually tried using a device in the Xperia Z3 series I may be talking out of my ass.

One thing's for sure. You'll want to detach your phone from the DualShock 4 before you poke your eye out with an analog stick when you try to take a call mid-game.
