Halo: The Master Chief Collection Goes Gold, Requires 20GB Day One Patch [Update: Pre-order and Pre-download Now]

[Update]  The folks over at Xbox Wire have confirmed that, starting right now, gamers can sign into Xbox Live and pre-order/pre-download Halo: The Master Chief Collection ahead of its release next month!

If you want to be ready right at launch, make sure to do it before the big day, November 11.

[Original] Halo: The Master Chief Collection has gone gold, developer 343 Industries has announced.

The upcoming Xbox One exclusive compilation will be absolutely massive, as 343 studio head Dan Ayoub has confirmed that the game "will take up almost all of the usable space of a single Blu-ray." Not only that, but the studio is issuing a "content update at launch that is estimated to be 20 GB."

Don't worry, though. You don't have to sit there twiddling your thumbs while you wait for the update to download, as campaign play will be available right away, "with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update."

Halo: The Master Chief Collection launches on November 11, exclusively for Xbox One. You'll be able to pre-order and pre-download the game to your console later today.
