Endless Legend Adds Modding Tools and Halloween-Themed Quest

Endless Legend fans, rejoice!

Iceberg Interactive and Amplitude Studios have finally opened its popular 4X strategy title to user-created modifications, where players can now add new faction traits, technology, items, skills, technologies, and more. They've also added a quest entitled "A Tale from the Dark Season" which when completed in-game will unlock a special Halloween prize.

I've dabbled a bit when it comes to modding games like the fighting shareware title, M.U.G.E.N., so out of curiosity, I delved a little into the modding tools for Endless Legend. It's certainly more complicated than M.U.G.E.N., but anyone who has experience modding games will have no trouble here. The tutorial for modding Endless Legend (took me awhile to find it) can be found in this official forum thread.

As a test, I've altered the cost values for a few custom traits in the game (without using a mod) and it seems to work, so now all it takes is getting those changes into the mod for distribution. That may be easier said than done, though.

Endless Legend is available on Steam for $34.99 and was given a 4 out of 5 by Joey Davidson in his review.
