Next-Gen GTA Online Saves Will Transfer Mostly Everything

Rockstar has revealed the details of how GTA Online progress on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 can be transferred to the next-gen version of GTA Online, when GTAV re-releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One tomorrow on November 18.

The instructions are deliberately long-winded, but essentially so long as you have a Rockstar Games Social Club account, PlayStation Plus/Xbox Live on your systems of choice, and have played GTA Online on PS3 and X360 in the first place (duh). Once you enter GTA Online on PS4 or XOne, you'll be given an option to transfer your save data and you can return to the option in the Online section of the Pause Menu.

Everything from money, rank, RP, game progress, items, and property, to creator, crews, and Achievements/Trophies, will transfer over. Any pre-existing character you've made on PS4 or XOne will be overwritten, so be sure you choose the right save. The only exception is in-game money which will just be added to your transferred balance. You can also only transfer a set of saves once.

Beware, though. Any purchased in-game money won't transfer from Xbox 360 to PS4 or PS3 to Xbox One. The same goes for Job playlists and bookmarked playlists. Leaderboards, world records, personal bests, and snapmatic photos won't make the transition.
